The Seashells I am currently sculpting ‘The Seashells’ as a meditative and sanative practice of processing pandemic into quasi post-pandemic life. ‘March 2020 to March 2021, bookends of unprecedented time. If the ocean could be a symbol of that time, humanity imprinted her shores while on a precipitate journey ending in eye-opening reflection. As we sheltered in place and covered our trauma-laced face, we sunk into routines like the waves kiss, then ebb from shore. This repetition of the surf left pieces on the sand for us to glean, perhaps keep. ‘The Seashells’ represent uncovering and observing these unexpected pieces of discovery while sheltering, noticing, wondering, and reflecting.’
